Tuesday Hayday!

Tuesday Hayday!

So I got to thinking the other day that I don’t spend enough time with Hayden our middle child doing things centered on what he would find fun. Especially since his little sister was born.

My job has been in limbo for some time now due to the economy but something good has come out of it. I have been able to live one of my dreams. I get to be a stay at home at least part time now. I had not made any set plans for during the day because I was always afraid that I would have to go back to work as soon as I joined up for anything but decided to change that once summer started.

With Hailey getting out of school, I have signed her up for all kinds of fun stuff. Different Camps, Cheernastics, traveling, etc. That’s what got me thinking about Hayden. I know he is only 18 months and can’t tell me “Hey mom, what about me? What fun stuff am I going to do this summer?” So I decided that I would tweak his time with Ms. Karen to allow us some time together.

That is now what I call Tuesday Hayday. After dropping off big sissy to whatever activity she has planned for the day we head off to Barnes and Noble for Story time. The first day we rolled in there with little sissy sleeping in the back of the stroller Hayden looked so confused. Here were all these new little kids sitting around with their mommies listening to this really nice lady read books and lead them in songs.

At first he just sat there in the stroller but when I unfastened him, he just looked at me like “You mean I really get to get out of my stroller in a store and walk around and just be me?”

"Well yes my son you do!" This is your day. He loved it!

So after story time we loaded back up into the car and drove to Willow Bend. Another adventure, I didn’t realize how long it had been since I had taken Hayden to the mall to play because it was the best thing ever.

I clicked the straps off and he went running so fast to fall flat on his face of Steak & Eggs. He looked back at me with the most wonderful happy look on his face and got right back up and started playing!

I won’t forget it for a very long time if ever. He was just so excited to be at places where he could be his age.

We picked up big sissy and headed home for lunch. Everyone had an appetite and Hayden didn’t resist one bit when I told him it was nap time. He slept for 3 hours.

Lately, after now having 3 kids people are always asking me "How hard is it, to have 3?". I always let them know I am truly blessed and trying my best to get use to it but that it is usually Hayden who is the hardest right now due to his age.

Well today that was not true! He gave me so much joy and all he was doing was being his silly, exhausting, all over the place age!
Can’t wait till next Tuesday Hayday!
